What we say isn’t always what we mean!
Trust thought for today - we are more likely to trust those people we understand. Distrust can happen where people interpret the intent behind communications to be manipulative. Everyday language is a minefield of perception and reality.
I loved this which Garry Honey kindly sent to help me out with my BS workshop. It was from the Economist in 2011 as a translation guide for EU officials when dealing with the UK speak. Sorry can't find the original article.
It has had me chuckling and is totally true, but also interesting for trust if you don't know the rules!
