How Untrustworthy Tech will Affect our Trust in Systems Generally

Trust thought for today is:

1. About how basically untrustworthy tech will affect our trust in systems, governments, governance in general. What will the impact of this be on society as a whole?

From this great article:

"During questioning, an officer showed Williams a picture of a suspect. His response, as he told the ACLU, was to reject the claim. “This is not me,” he told the officer. “I hope y’all don’t think all black people look alike.” He says the officer replied: “The computer says it’s you.”

2. How fantastic academics, lawyers, NGOs of all types and individual citizens are really standing up for values and ethics that many tech companies, even governments seem to have forgotten and many of us know matters, but just let things slide because we are busy.

What would the world do without them. Who will help pay for their work? Better get our hands in our pockets I think and raise our voices a little louder I think.
