Trustworthiness and Trust in the Tech and its Governance
Trust thought for the day - Malaria eradication - will trust in governance be the defining issue for proposed game changer new technology solutions to the intractable problem of the 400k+ deaths each year?
Or will it be the trustworthiness, and perceptions of trustworthiness, of the solutions themselves? Probably a mix of prevention, medicines and or one or both of these tech solutions?
Been following for a while the progress of the gene edited sterile gene drive mosquito, recently released in the Florida Keys.

And now we have the real potential for a vaccine. Exciting.

Trustworthiness and trust in the tech and its governance is the defining factor here I think. Have chosen to share positive post on gene drive mozzies. There is lots to say on this which is of concern. Just Google and you’ll see.
Btw pic shows: “The first gene drive in insects were developed by nature: for example, in stalk-eyed flies.” Gbohne/WikimediaCommons from article.
