The Distinction Between Forward Trust and Backward Trust

Trust thought for the day - a distinction I have been pondering for a while of 'Backward Trust and Forward Trust (need better language I know!)

Reflecting is it worth making a distinction between trust based on solid personal experience and that which requires not the leap of faith that is sometimes talked about, but a calibration of the decision based on wider considerations. The context, benefit, risk and world view factors will also come more prominently into play here.
