Did you see the story that Elon Musk is gearing up to start clinical trials of his Neuralink Brain Machine Interface? They are hiring a clinical trials director to "lead and help build the team responsible for enabling Neuralink’s clinical research activities and developing the regulatory interactions that come with a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment". Trustworthy governance very much needed here.

He is promising some life changing neural implants to help people with spinal cord injuries walk again which we don't want to miss out on. But there are ethical issues here and then there is the slippery slope to what else is done with brain computer interfaces.
