This is a long read, was intending only to skim, but it is a mesmerising and convincing analysis by Nicholas Wade of why Covid is very likely to have escaped from the Wuhan lab. This was the unassuming post which started to turn the tide away from the wet market theory.

Everything we see in disasters from Chernobyl to the Post Office scandal is there. Arrogance, poor governance, perverse incentives, denial, lies, cover up, wilful blindness. The whole works. This is going to be really really serious for China.
