What Gareth Southgate can each us about Integrity

Trust thought for today, another of the 7 Signals of Trustworthiness - go on, I'll do another football one - Integrity!

The word is mentioned time and again about England manager Gareth Southgate with regard to his leadership style, personal conduct, his vision for the way the team approach the game and his expectation of the way the players conduct themselves on and off the pitch. "Respectful, humble, he tells the truth' (Gary Neville echoing others after last night's win). 'A man of integrity, decency and honesty' , 'a leader with intelligence and integrity', hard to read an article about him without that word coming up at some point.

The stark comparison is regularly made with our Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who's lack of integrity and honesty is open and unapologetic, and which also reflects his leadership style and the conduct of notable members of his cabinet and government, on and off the job.

Perhaps people might think differently about Kier Starmer, also a man of integrity, but a bit boring! But it looks like you also have to win alot to make it make integrity sexy. Hmmm.
