UK Gov lack of competence, integrity, transparency. Again

Trust thought for today - the importance of trust drivers competence, integrity and transparency. AGAIN a failure in all three from our current government in relation to fraud and the British Business Bank and Bounce Back Loan Scheme for covid.

Here in Civil Service World - Civil servants accused of ‘paranoid risk aversion’ over Covid support schemes

"Former Cabinet Office and Treasury minister Lord Theodore Agnew has accused civil servants of suffering from a combination of “paranoid risk aversion”, ignorance and a lack of confidence for failing to name recipients of the government’s £47bn Bounce Back Loan Scheme."

Competence: "BEIS have no experience in the regulation of a bank. No-one was watching them properly. The accounting officer of BEIS hasn’t a clue about banking"

Integrity: “We’re in this ridiculous position now where they are doubling down on their defensiveness, and that’s why you can’t get any information out of them because they’re trying to defend the flaws of two years and beyond ago

Transparency: "the blanket refusal to publish information about the scheme was an attempt to shut down scrutiny."

Trust in government is eroded time and again from not understanding the importance of the qualities of trustworthiness.
